im hoping to find shops who can buy used cables to resell, to reduce waste and help the environment.i have old serial cables 9pin 25pin on both sides.i used this to connect pc to pc many years ago.they should still be working fine and its such a waste to just throw it away.i wanted to ebay but the price is too low and there are no demands, its not worth trying.also some other cables, like midi cables, printer cables, etc.i see some these cables being sold at jaycar electronics for a $20 or soi wanted to try at gumtree but i don't really know the name use of the cables either.there is usedcables.com but its only in the USwhat about in sydney?thanks.

What kind of computer cable is this called?
Here is a pic of the ends. one is an IDE end and one is a type of SCSI end like on some older printers. I need to buy a replacement for this but can't locate one so maybe there is a term or name that I need? Any help is appreciated. I want to buy one on ebay if there is one there for sale. It's part of a hard drive duplicator called Image Masster 2000 but I cannot located the part under that name. One end is IDE as it attaches to IDE hard drives.

How do I set up internet on a new computer (cable + router)?
Hi everyone,Recently I bought a new computer to replace my previous one, though I kept the old hard drive and had it installed in my new computer as another drive E . The new computer, however, boots on the new and empty hard drive. Connected to the main computer in my house, there is a router D Link model DSL 2650U, it's a wireless ADSL router and my new computer is connected to this router via cable. However, the internet on my new computer isn't working. On the router, the LAN light representing the internet on the main computer is blinking active , whereas the light for the new computer is solid link . I've tried all the wizards used for installing networks and internet connection and all that, but none of them worked for them, and my Network Connections folder remains empty.Help what should I do to get internet on my other computer? I've been told that the internet was supposed to work automatically on the new computer once I connected the ethernet cable, but that hasn't been the case. I really am clueless, and all help would be greatly appreciated.Thank you

What computer cable can I use?!?!?!?
I have a bit of a problem here. My only firewire port is now shot on my iBook laptop. I need to transfer videos from my camera to my computer for a project, but have no means of doing so because I don't have a cable that will fit a USB port from my camera's DV out port. Does a DV to USB cable exist? Or is there some type of conversion that will allow my Firewire cable to work? What should I do?

What I'm trying to do is connect a few USB ports on my computer case, which go down into the case via wires and connector, to the mobo. Both manuals are not helping me very much with the differentiation of names and wires.Two different companies are represented. I want to make sure I'm using the right connector combination to hook them up. Do these female and male pin combinations look compatible? Desktop Computer cabled to a wireless modem does not go into sleep mode.?
I recently stepped up to a wireless modem or router since my new laptop has the wireless capability. I put my older desktop in my daughter's room and connected it to the router with a cable. When I try to put the computer in " sleep" mode, it shuts off for about 3 seconds and then comes right back up. I had a similar problem when I used a wireless keyboard with it. Is there some kind of constant communication going on between the two devices that prevents it from going into " sleep" . Do you have any suggestions other than shutting it down every time? Thanks.
