What should I do about this computer repair?
I repaired a computer for a friend and I was able to use firefox internet explorer fine, but when I my friend used it she could not get onto the internet at all. She said that when she click internet explorer or firefox, nothing happens We checked her internet connection and everything was fine. She can't reinstall Firefox because she does not have internet connection. What should I do because i'm not really good at guiding people over the phone.

Was my computer repair guy trying to charge me extra for nothing?
I recently had to bring my computer in for service. When the repair guy called, he told me it was the power supply and that would have to be replaced. He also said there were some viruses that would need removing at an additional cost of $119 . I told him replace the power supply and no on the virus removal. My question is how could they have known there were viruses if they hadn't already done a virus scan? I did a virus scan myself with 2 different virus programs and came up with nothing. Were they trying to squeeze extra $$$ out of me?The power supply was $59 plus labor.

Online computer repair?
A bit over a year ago I had my desktop computer tuned up by an online outfit that " took over" the computer and removed viruses if there were any and useless junk all for a reasonable price. It ran like it was new again much faster. However, I lost the name of the firm that did it. Can anyone recommend a good, proven firm that can do it for me again?

Just got my computer repaired when i got home my mouse and keyboard dont work what do i do?
I recently just got my computer repaired.. the people restored it to its factory settings.. now my mouse, keyboard and speaker wont work. The mouse will light up but doesnt move on the monitor.. and the keyboad works when i press caps lock. So is their something wrong with the computer it self.. im not using the computer i just got repaired im using my mothers lab top someone please help me

How much should I charge for computer repair/service?
I fix computers out of my home. I work on desktops and laptops, PC's only. I am 16 years old and I've replaced LCD monitors and motherboards in laptops. I've replaced CPU's and video cards. I've done pretty much everything and would refer to myself as extremely computer literate. I did some shopping around my area and found out that the computer shops around here charge about 50 dollars an hour for their services. I figured that 30 an hour would be a decent cost. What do you think?

I'm 16 years old, almost 17, and I repair computers out of my home. I have dealt with everything from replacing bad ram, to repairing replacing motherboards in some of the newest and most jammed together laptops. I know what I am doing and I am deciding to take the next step and start advertising my services. I think it would make me look a little bit more qualified especially being only 16 if I had some sort of certification in computer repairs and computer building. I just can't seem to find any that look legit. Do you have any ideas?

Computer repair help?
I been having alot of problems with my computer it started with a serious crash and the computer would not boot giving me safe mode options and an option to use the last know configurations that worked. I first tried to use a restore point in safe mode but it failed so i tried to repair the copy of windows with my xp disc, but it froze at 46 %. I then decided that because I keep all of my crucial data on a slave i would format the drive so I started the process with my xp disc it froze at 37 %.So I used a diagnostic tool called seatools but it froze at the begining of the test so thought it could be having problems with the RAM so i then ran a test called memtest86 and that froze 50 % at this point I going to call it a night does anyone have any other thoughts on what to do with it tomorrow?I forgot to mention when seatools froze i changed out the hard drive for an old one i had laying around tried to format it twice first time it froze at 63 % then at 4 % the second time.Two sticks of RAM installed 512mb and 256mbI have a closer look at the mother board tomorrow if it is faulty i cant see much point going to that much effort for a computer of that age.I just removed the 256mb stick of RAM and started memtest86 I will post the results as soon as it either freezes or completesThe 512MB stick froze during testing so I swapped it for the 256MB stick it made it through testing with a pass so I thought I had found the source of the problems so I then started installation of windows with froze when it found the existing copy of windows I tried again and it then froze a 7 % through the formatting of the partition.
