Question: My computers mouse will not work?

The mouse on my computer will not work ? I replaced it and it still will not work ? The computer is older at about 7 years.I f- 10 the sytstem and it still will not work? The arrows on the keyboard work .

1. Go to the Control Panel and double click on the Mouse Icon Choose the Hardware tab Then the Properties button then the drivers tab and click on update drivers. New drivers should load and this may solve your problem. 2. Make sure the mouse has no system conflicts Resources tab Under Device Manager. 3. Try a USB mouse.

You need to tell us if it is a PS/ 2 mouse or a USB mouse? Cordless or corded? Is the light on, on the underside of the mouse? Any yellow exclamation marks in device manager? (start > right click my computer > properties > hardware > device manager).
