Take the hard-drive out of your old computer and put it in a new one. All your documents, pictures, EVERYTHING, is stored in the Hard- Drive. Just take it out, buy a new computer, disconnect the new computers hard-drive, and connect your old hard-drive to your new computer. Important: Make sure they are compatable with eachother! How do you know if they are?: Read the model, or ask a professional.

Take out the hard drive and put it inside a different PC, from there you have access to all your stuff so you can put it on CD/ DVD, USB drive, or onto the internet. To do this, you need to open your PC, locate the hard drive, take it out and find a computer that will fit the hard drive and stick it inside that, from there you can turn on this other PC and tada, all your stuff is there. It's perfectly safe and there is a low level of losing data if you look after the hard drive. A computer store will scam you with prices at 100 for this simple, simple fix, find a friend with the knowledge to do it for a low fee (From 10 to 20 if they're a good friend).

If the hard drive is OK then you can put it in an external enclosure (which includes a power supply), attach it to another computer and recover your files. You could also get a computer repair shop to do it for you. If the hard disk is damaged then your only chance is to use a data recovery service. I always recommend datarecovery.com since the owner is a former student of mine, very good and very honest.
