How can I upgrade my Dell computer?
Hi, I got a Dell Dimension 2300 desktop computer running on Windows XP Home SP3Intel Celeron CPU 1.80GHz processor1.79GHz motherboard256MB of RAMOne upgrade I'm seriously considering is going up to 1GB of RAM. But other than that, should I swap out any other hardware component to get a faster more reliable computer, and not have it run like a damn snail anymore? I don't have any issues with viruses or trojans that are making my computer run slow, I scan it very often with my AV software. All I want is a boost in overall performance. Can it be done successfully on my computer without dishing out alot of $$$, or is it even worth it? Any help is appreciated, thank you very much.

How do I do a System Recovery for a Dell Computer, that runs on Windows XP?
Well, my Dell computer won't let me into my system. It will just take me to that one screen that says " Safe Mode, Safe Mode with Command Prompt" etc. etc. When I looked up how to do a System Recovery for my Dell comp, it said things such as, when I get to the screen that says " Dell" in blue letters, to press ctrl f11 and it'll take me to a screen that says " Restore" and further steps from there. It didn't work, it just continued it's start up.What do I do? D Oh, by the wayy.I want to do this WITHOUT using the Windows re installation diskI know it's recommended, but, I don't have it.

I need help restoring my Dell computer!?
It crashed today and when I tried to boot from the back up disc, it kept saying the files were corrupt or unwriteable and I tried a bunch of things and nothing works And I'm not even close to being an expert on computers, so can anyone answering try to tone it down to something I could possibly understand? I am a long time Mac user now looking at buying a Dell for an additional computer. One of the problems Macs have seems to be major problems controlling the heat of the unit. Is this something I need to be concerned about with a Dell laptop, in your experience?

Dell computer problem?
My Dell Inspiron 1000 has worked well for the last couple of years I've owned it. It runs Windows XP Pro and right in the middle of its boot sequence, it just suddenly shut down. At times the splash screen coming up advising WinXP wasn't shut down right comes up and invites me to start up in safe mode, normally. etc. At times it doesn't. I've actually gotten it to boot up in both safe regular mode only to watch it just shut off again. What could be the problem with it?
