What are the purposes of a desktop computers?


How do I get my desktop computer on the same wireless network as my laptop?
I have a Speed Stream DSL box and a Linksys router. I had a desktop computer that was connected to them. That desktop crashed. Next, I had a laptop that worked on that network. I got a new Dell Inspiron desktop computer with an internal router. I have the DSL box connected to my new desktop, but now I have no idea what to do with my Linksys router. I don't even know if it is sending out any signal. My laptop will not get any internet now. I need for my laptop to be on the SAME WIRELESS NETWORK as my desktop. I have to use iTunes home sharing Please provide a simplified, yet in depth answer. Also, I would appreciate it if you gave me a link to the source you got it from. If you got it from a source. Two screens and one desktop computer. Can someone help me please?
I will be buying a new desktop computer soon, and will be picking one that specifically has either a HDMI socket and a vga socket, or one with two vga sockets. Basically I intend two have one connection going into the back of my HD tv, and the other to the screen that comes with the computer. I am aware that I can have two monitors running at the same time, but essentially what I would like to know is, if it is possible to be watching a movie or something on the HD tv screen, i.e playing on the desktop computer and running it to the HD tv, via HDMI or vga lead , and while watching the movie, would my wife be able to use the computer to surf the net, while looking at the screen that came with the computer. Sorry if it sounds vague. Hopefully someone can help.

im a 15 year old boy attending secondary school. i am looking for a laptop desktop computer priced somewhere between 400 600 GBP pounds . it should have at least 200 gb hard drive, a fairly good graphics card that can play stuff like GTA IV, COD call of duty and NFS. it should have more than 3gb ram, and processor of more than 1.5 GHZ, and at least 15 inch screen i hate small screens .only answer if youve found something and please dont give me answers like why do you need something so good youre only in year 10 or something. Hello all, I can not start my desktop. As soon as I turn on the power I got the blue screen which says ESC Reboot F11 RecoveryF10 Setup F9 DiagosnisticI tried all of them but nothing is working. I tried to start with Safe mode by pressing F8 when computer start. It is not responding too.I tried to reinstall the operating system with my original VISTA CD. I have been looking at the Alienware computers online as i am aloud one for passing my exams, my budget is 2000, i dont know which to choose, ive narrowed it down to the Area 51 Not ALX or the Aurora ALX? My husband is looking for a graphics card for his computer, right now he has 4350 Ati Radeon hd . however he is only able to play one or two games max with perfection, and or loading capabilities. We are looking for a graphics card that is simple to put in that is under 200 dollars and is better then the one he has in it now. Problem is that the processor on this computer is smaller then most and that last graphics card we bought geforce9800 was to big to place into the tower, with out breaking something. My Dell Inspiron 530s desktop computer will start up and get to the "Dell Logo" screen and then it re-starts..?
I cant access the f8 safe mode that isnt listed.. but people tell me it should work I can however access the f2 setup and f12 boot mode. but nothing in these menu's helps. please someone enlighten me on how to fix this. my comp is just over a year and a half old. any help is greatly appreciated
